Merewether Removals

About

Local removalists for the beachside south-east of Newcastle: Merewether, the Heights, The Junction, Bar Beach, Hamilton South and Adamstown.

Merewether Removals is a local removals service for the beachside south-east of Newcastle. We move homes, offices and single heavy items across Merewether, Merewether Heights, The Junction, Bar Beach, Hamilton South, Adamstown and Adamstown Heights, and we plan each move around the one thing these suburbs have in common and almost nowhere else does: the hill and the beach.

Down here the move runs to the slope, not the map. The old terraces and brick-and-tile homes tumble down ocean-side streets toward Merewether Beach and the baths, so the carry usually climbs from the truck. The Heights sit high on steep blocks with sharply-graded driveways and ocean views. Bar Beach is apartments on a short clifftop street. And on any warm weekend the kerbs from the top of the hill down to the foreshore fill with beach-day cars before the morning is out. The City of Newcastle does not offer a one-day removal permit, so a beachside move turns on reading the slope, the frontage and the parking, and timing the truck around it, before move day rather than on it. Inland at The Junction, Hamilton South and Adamstown the streets flatten out and the move changes again. We plan for whichever one you are in.

What we do

We handle house, office and furniture removals, packing and unpacking, interstate moves and storage. Whether it is a single heavy item up a tight terrace staircase or a full four-bedroom home down a steep Heights driveway, we bring the crew and the gear to do it carefully.

How we work

  • The slope and the parking first. We plan the truck position, the carry up or down the hill, and the loading window around the beach-day kerb.
  • Fully insured. Your belongings are covered while we move them.
  • Honest quotes. Clear pricing based on your actual move and access, with no surprises on the day.
  • Careful with your home. We protect floors, doorframes and banisters as a matter of course, from heritage terraces to brand-new builds.
