Plan the slope, the frontage and the beach-day kerb
Down here the move is decided by how your street sits to the surf, how the carry reaches your door, and how hard the beach-day parking is biting, not by the kilometres. Tell us how your block sits and we will show you the crew, the truck position and the carry your move actually needs, honestly.
A truck stops near the door on a quiet kerb: two movers and a truck handle this comfortably.
Three kinds of beachside access
However your block sits, the move falls into one of three shapes. This is how we resource each one, so the price reflects the real work and there are no surprises on the day.
Kerbside carry
A truck stops near the door, the street is quiet enough to load, and the carry is short and mostly level. The standard crew of two movers and one truck moves the home efficiently.
Short shuttle or extra hands
A slope to work, a terrace with steps and a narrow hall, a lift to book, or a busy kerb to time. We add a mover or run a smaller shuttle vehicle for the steep or tight bit, so the day still runs to time.
Full shuttle and a bigger crew
A steep hill carry, a walk-up with no lift, or a beachfront kerb that has to be timed around the crowd. We park where it is legal, shuttle to the truck, bring a larger crew and allow the time, so nothing is rushed.
About the planner
Is this my final quote?
No. It is an honest read on the crew, the truck position and the carry your access calls for, so the quote is accurate and the day has no surprises. Send the planner result with your enquiry and we will price the move on your real address, both ends.
Why does the slope change the move so much?
Carrying a loaded fridge or a lounge up a hill from the truck, or down to a below-street door and back up empty, is slower and harder on the crew than the same carry on the flat. The beachside streets are the steepest part of what we cover, so we plan the gradient rather than guess on the day.
What about the beach-day parking?
The City of Newcastle does not issue a one-day removal permit, so on a busy beachfront street we scout a legal loading spot and time the truck around the crowd, ideally an early start or a weekday. The planner flags when parking is the main constraint so we plan the window with you up front.
What if a truck genuinely cannot get near my home?
That happens on the tight beachside streets and the steep Heights driveways. We park a truck where it is legal and shuttle your belongings to it with a smaller vehicle and extra hands. The planner flags this so it is costed up front, not discovered on moving day.
